Question:
I am interested in using your software for horse racing laying. I have a MacBook and I am not sure if I can use your software on a Mac?
I have tried downloading the free trial but it keeps asking me to choose an application once it has downloaded and I am not sure which one to select, this has prompted me to ask oif I can use it on a Mac?
Answer:
Sorry but the software only works on the Microsoft Windows platform using .Net v2 framework. A friend of mine has been using a windows emulator or if you have a new intel Mac you can install Windows XP and run the software.
Have you tried:

Question:
I just downloaded and installed BF explorer for beginners today.
But on login the software said that my 5 day trial has just expired.
So I cannot try it out. Can this be corrected ?
Regards ,
Alex
Answer:
Hi Alex,
It is really so simple, if the application say that trial expired then it is so, you must trial the Bfexplorer before, I can say you that such information is stored not only on your computer.
I can help you only knowing your betfair user name, maybe.
Best regards,
Stefan

Question:
I tried downloading your trial version but when I try to logon, the logon is refused. Output shows, Please use betfair subscription access.
There were 3 items in the program group. I tried the bfexplorer for horseracing first, then the bfexplorer.
Someone else who trialed it said they got a prompt when first run regarding the trial but I did not.
Answer:
Dear Paul,
I am certified betfair software vendor and all applications offered in Bfexplorer package went through betfair security certification, only such applications can be then listed in the Betfair Solutions Directory:
http://solutions.betfair.com/index.php/51-Bfexplorer/View-details
Your problem is either you have no funds at your account or your account was not active for 3 month or more, have a look at the forum:
http://talk.bfexplorer.com/viewtopic.php?t=4
As you mentioned that in the Output window was:
Please use betfair subscription access.
Because when using the betfair subscription api access the policy for using free api access are not applied so you can use access without having no funds at your account.
Kind regards,
Stefan
Question by AllanDevlin -- Posted: 2008-02-10 07:46:00
Question:
Would BFexplorer be able to perform either of these operations:
1. Automatically submit "Lay the Field" bets pre set odds and liabilties as soon as race goes in running.
2. As above but with "Keep Bets" feature say 1 minute before advertised off time.
I would enter selected races and odds etc on morning of race(s).
Answer:
Dear Allan,
Yes, it can be done in both cases. The bfexplorer is not only a trading platform but as well a platform for bot script development, and all bespoke solutions I built for my customers utilize its infrastructure.
In your case you want to lay all runners (selections, horses) on selected markets at predefined odds and stake as your liability if I understand it correctly, if not let me know what exactly you want (maybe set different odds for any selection).
For such simple cases I can create a bot script with those parameters:
bet type
odds
stake
stake is my libiality (applicable for lay bets)
at in play cancel bets (keep bets)
Then you can use such script with Bot Executor, have a look at this screen shot:
http://talk.bfexplorer.com/viewtopic.php?t=104
To run this script on selected markets manually, you can create a set of bot settings using the Bot Criteria Editor, with different odds or stakes or what you want.
And of course you can use the Bot Criteria settings with Trade Opportunity Lookup service in the scenario you are describing, selected your markets on which you want to run this script and set x minutes before to tell when the Trade Opportunity Lookup service have to start with executing the bot script.
All that you can have for 30 Euro subscription fee per month what is the cost of betfair subscription api access for Bfexplorer PRO.
Of course if you want your bespoke solution to build as a standalone application or plugin for Bfexplorer it can be done as well, but that is not for free, have a look at here for some screen shots of such bespoke solutions here:

Question by Peter Dymott -- Posted: 2008-01-10 09:28:02
Question:
Hi Stefan This morning I have been using bfexplorer to trade the FT100 houly market. There is a large spread between the back and lay prices and therefore your profit/loss(greening up box) is showing a loss as is it calculating via the best available lay price after the back bet has been placed. A profit could have been obtained if a lay bet was placed at the best available back price. Is it possible to have two boxes. (example back bet has been placed at 2.06. Prices now show Back 1.96 Lay 2.10,Box 1 would show that a profit could be made by calculating a lay bet at 1.96 and if clicked the lay bet should be placed at the caculated figure. Box 2 would caculate at the current lay price and if clcked the lay bet would be placed at this figure,
I have been using fairbot the disadvantage is tha it does not show a profit/loss box, but when greening up a back bet will place the lay bet at the best available back price rather than the current lay price. thank you peter dymott
Answer:
Hi Peter,
The Profit/Loss button was meant to close position immediately therefore it takes best offer lay or back price depending on what was your opening bet.
If you want to close position at any set odds you can use Bet Wizard Close Position or Close Position for Selection.
When you place any bet the Bfexplorer automatically adds selection into the Watched Selections (View/Watched Selection) here you can see you position on all selection you placed bet and close your position by mention wizards. You can open those wizards by clicking on the tool bar button Close Position, or by clicking on menu item Market/Bet Wizards/ Close Position or Close Position for Selection. You can use context menu when clicking on selection with the right mouse button, and you can use keyboard shorcuts F2 or F3.
Well, I could implement the Profit/Loss button to calculate the closing position as you suggesting from taking the better offered price (odds/prices from opposite site) and the user could select which method he could use but as this possibility is here for instance also in the Trade the Market window (ladder) where you can close position at any odds you select.
Best regards,
Stefan

Question by Kay -- Posted: 2007-12-27 13:31:46
Question:
Hello.
I have 2 questions: (1) How many days free trial is the Bfexplorer pro, as my login has been denied with a message stating that my 5 days free trial has expired. I thought the free trial was more than 5 days!
(2) You stated that the Bfexplorer pro subscription fee is 30 euro/month. After subscribing this, does one also have pay for the Betfair full API access (currently £100 per month)?
Many thanks.
Answer:
Dear Kay,
The Bfexplorer has got two stages of trial, if the user did not ask for betfair subscription api access trial he can use the Bfexplorer with free api only, free api limits the number of markets you can open and monitor and not all features of the Bfexplorer are available as well.
After the free api trail expires you can ask for another 5 days to trial the Bfexplorer with betfair subscription api access, and in this mode all features of the Bfexplorer PRO are available for you.
The betfair subscription api access for transaction access costs me 200 pounds per month, as I am a software vendor having Bfexplorer products I offer the access to betfair api for 30 Euro per month and that is all what you need to pay if you want to use the Bfexplorer PRO with transaction api access. The Bfexplorer for beginners costs only 5 Euro per month.
Kind regards,
Stefan
Question by Román Molina -- Posted: 2007-12-16 16:27:16
Question:
I would like to know the procedure to make my registration in BFexplorer, and how much it cost in both possibilitys (free API and no free API).
Thank you
Answer:
Dear Román,
In my products I do not offer betfair free api for subscription fee. The free api is used as alternative for users who want to test the Bfexplorer immediately after installing and they did not ask for betfair subscription api trial period.
It is very simply the free api has its limitation in number of request the application can request per one minute and not all services are offered in free api. The free api was meant just for testing purposes for software developers.
I offer three applications in the bfexplorer package. The beginner’s version, the Bfexplorer for Beginners costs 5 Euro per month, the PRO version of Bfexplorer cost 30 Euro per month, when paying for PRO version you havegot access also for the beginner’s version and the Bfexplorer for Pocket PC.
Kind regards,
Stefan

Question:
Hi,
Currently using bettrader pro, but your software looks far more profesional. I have a couple of questions although will probably think of more..
Horse race betting, Does your system have a function that will allow you to trade a single / or two multiple horses and then, once hopefully you have made a profit, hedge the position so you are guarnteed to win no matter what horse comes in. And is this available on other sports.
Secondly, is there any function I can add in order to automatically place a back in the running in a horse race say if, the horse trades at 1.10, back £50 at 1.08...
Answer:
Dear Frank,
You can trade on any sport and on as many selections as you want. You can use four type of user interface as a trading interface:
The market grid view
The Trade the Market list view (ladder)
Bfexplorer Trader, the user interface for trading on multiple selection with “ladder” interface
The Market Watch List, the grid view interface where you can add more markets wit selection you are only interested in.
Have a look at screen shots:
http://talk.bfexplorer.com/viewtopic.php?t=11
Yes, the Bfexplorer has a close position feature, which calculates your stake to close position (hedge) with equal profit or loss. The “ladder” interface does it automaticlly knowing if you are closing position calculates the correct stake, otherwise it place a bet with default stake you set.
When you place a bet the Bfexplorer automatically adds the selection to the Watched Selections window, so if you are trading on many markets, or when you run some automated solution on many markets, you can see on this window all your open positions at the current profit/loss closing your position by one click using the Close Potion wizards.
http://talk.bfexplorer.com/viewtopic.php?t=10
The Bfexplorer uses the latest api 6 for accessing the betfair markets enabling this way all new feature the betfair offers mainly bet persistance feature, and betfair starting prices for horse racing mrkets.
http://talk.bfexplorer.com/viewtopic.php?t=176
What I know no other betfair api programs offers such new features.
Kind regards,
Stefan
