The Bfexplorer now support Excel so those of you who are not familiar with C# or Visual Basic and do not want to write script bots for Bfexplorer directly can now use Excel and VBA for automation. Supported commands are: 

• PLACE
• UPDATE
• CANCEL
• CANCEL ALL

So if you want to place a bet on selection, type in particular rows and columns:

In this case on selection will be placed back bet 1.68 for 10

Frankly to say I prefer C# script bots coding, but as I said it is an alternative for rest of you, and actually an only way which was offered by other betfair software vendors, so you can find it in the Bfexplorer and choose what more suits your need.

As the Bfexplorer was assigned a new product ID you will need to download the latest version. The older version will show error message Failed to login to the Betfair Service! 

If you want you can still use the Bfexplorer only with free API.

Similar like on the betfair web page this tool opens the next race for horse racing. Bfexplorer adds this possibility for Greyhound Racing.

Unfortunately this feature is accessible only for users with betfair subscription API.

The Trade Opportunity Lookup

This service supports bot development so now you can write your customized bots to look up your trading opportunity.

Trade the Market:

I left two click placing but added changing the cursor to hand so you know that you are about to place a bet after releasing the mouse button, you still have a chance when mouse button is down to cancel the bet placing operation by moving mouse out of selected price. Of course it is maybe better to switch on the verify bets for newcomers or even better to switch into the Learning mode, just to familiarize yourself with user interface. I implemented this feature for that as well.

I added placing the back and lay bets on best offered prices when clicking on column back To Back or To Lay. Doing so the 1.01 back bet or 1000 lay bet is placed leaving this way the betfair system to match on best offered price.

Trading Strategies:

In all of those strategies the one or other bot is started utilizing this way a powerful bot support in the Bfexplorer. The best way how to test it is to switch into the learning mode and try it. There are two ways of activation a trading strategy, by clicking on price/odds you want to place a bet or by clicking on Start Strategy button. For some of the trade strategies is possible t set default parameters by clicking on popup menu for Start Strategy button and then clicking the menu item Default Parameters.

The other strategies will come soon. if you have any suggestions just let me know. At the momement I am working on combination of bots Place the Bet and Close Position. The Close Position bot is used it trading strategy Automatic Trading.

My Bets:

The background color for input controls depending on selected bet type, you can see on what bet type you want to place bet avoiding this way any mistakes.

Watched Markets:

After placing the bet on market the selection is automatically added to the watched markets window so you can see here all markets on which you opened position the price movements and your current position state, well everyone would like to see only green. You can close you position by clicking on Bet Wizard button – Close position.

Market Details Charts:  

You can select the selection on the market by clicking on the chart by left or right mouse button, is better to click on chart title by left mouse button or click on out of chart area because that left mouse clicking activates the mark line on the chart. I like this feature because now you can operate fully only with charts not looking the market details numbers for market selection.

 

Trade the Market strategy

 

Trade strategy “Chase the Price” is bot application for trading strategy that will chase the price if you place a bet and the price moves in opposite direction. Use the learning mode to test it.

Trade Opportunity Lookup

 

What is for bot platform very important is monitoring market’s data and then depending on the bot type act very quickly because a trading opportunity can disappear as quickly as appeared.

 

The Bfexplorer has already one feature for monitoring implemented, Monitored Markets and bots which could be manually setup and run on selected market’s selection/runner. In this case are monitored all data on the market and results are presented in the Market Details window.

 

In some cases it is not necessary to monitor all data or the previous approach of selecting some markets beforehand can fail just because we had not selected correct markets, so we need to monitor as much as possible markets, or markets for which we have got bots which generates some profit.

 

Writing a good bot is another issue, what I implemented now is just means to get minimum of necessary markets data as quickly as possible.

 

If you want to test it you will need subscription API access.

 

Click on menu items Tools / Trade Opportunity Lookup, then you have three possibilities how to select markets you want to monitor.

 

I have tested it for ten markets the refresh rate was about 1.2 seconds, for hundreds of markets refresh rate was about 25 seconds.

 

I am just curious what would be your results, let me know.

 

I am back at work after 5 weeks off. Here at work we are connected through proxy server. The Tennis Score Board did not support this settings I have just implemented it but it seems that nobody uses it through proxy at least there were no complains.

 

Changes in the user interface for panels Traded and Available and My Bets

The Bet Wizard – Close Position now have possibility to select in calculation process only matched bets or all bets. In the case that you select only matched bets and you submit your new position opened unmatched bets will be canceled before placing new closing bets, this feature is not yet implemented.

 

 

As between versions could be some changes in data structure and the Bfexplorer stores some data to the file:

It is better after uninstalling the old version delete this file.

This Bet Wizard calculates stakes for bets you want to close “green up”. Into the calculation are included only matched bets.

After docking the TennisScoreBoardDockableWindow and moving above the toolbar buttons the tooltips pop up and the exception is thrown. It seems to be an internal problem in SandDock library or in the ToolStrip Microsoft code as was suggested here:

 

My workaround to this problem is switching off the tooltips for this control.

The text to speech technology is used for the Tennis Score Board, so now you can listen to the match report.

I am sorry for any inconveniences to 12 people who downloaded the latest version because I forgot to remove some parts of code I use for testing from release code. This has no effect on my login so I did not find out it, now I know that I will need to test the release version not only on different computer, not only on my development computer, but as well with two different login accounts.

 

Once again I am very sorry it was my stupid fault.

 

As you maybe noticed the The Tennis Score Board is not working anymore, the data feed and its format was changed so I will need to rewrite the data provider code, the Tennis score Board will be back as soon as I will finish necessary changes, and it is not so easy

Actually this is not so new feature I had some implementation to look for the football Over/Under 2.5 goals market.

Now it searches for any selected market.

 

For instance you want to find any in play market for today’s football matches you click on menu item Tools / Find In Play Events, then click on toolbar button Find In Play Events, the Betfair Browser appears and you browse through Soccer – Fixtures – Fixtures 31 March, here you can select any market you want to be found. It does not matter which event you select for instance click on the first event Arhus Fremad v Naestved and select Match Odds, because you want to find any in-play markets for Match Odds, click on OK button and the Bfexplorer will look for any market Match Odds in the event Fixtures 31 March.

 

This feature is suitable only for those of you who are connected through subscription API access.

Well, up to now 29 people downloaded C# or Visual Basic project for testing and debugging bots for Bfexplorer. I think it is a good example for beginners trying to learn one or other programming language, because both projects do the same just programming language are different so beginner not yet decided which programming language to learn can choose what he wants.

 

The BotTestService  has a very simple interface, just 8 methods. You can login to your account, browser the betfair events and markets, select interesting markets for monitoring, place, update and cancel bets. That is all what you need for writing a bot. You have access to MonitoredMarket and to all data as the Bfexplorer has from namespaces:

 

You do not have the access to the rest infrastructure as the Bfexplorer, but you can do what you want, but do not forget that BotTestService was implemented just only as testing and debugging platform. But is really possible to build on it what you want, of course if offering interface is enough for your need.

Your bot have to be inherited from the base class Bot or any other class derived from that Bot base class. If you finished debugging and testing your bot code you can use it in Bfexplorer. Copy the file with the bot source code to the MyBots directory, the name of the file have to be fully qualified class name, for instance if your bot class name is: TestBot and the class is in the namespace: Bfexplorer.Scripting, the file name will be Bfexplorer.Scripting.TestBot.cs, extension .cs for C# and .vb for Visual Basic.

 

For setting up the customized bot, you have to select the market on which you want to run the bot, then open the Runner Property window. In the Bot section you need to set Bot Type to MyBot, set the MyBotClassName in this case it is TestBot, so the class name will be: Bfexplorer.Scripting.TestBot.

 

If you want to test the bot set parameter TestTheBot to true. You can set the rest of Bot parameters for Place Bet or Trading, actually you have access to all Runner Property data from your bot. If it will be necessary I will add the other parameters to the Runner Property later.

 

That is all, now you can Start your bot.
